Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is staying strong at number one at the weekend box office for the second weekend in a row with $36 million, Variety reports.
The sequel – starring Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, and more – is only the second summer movie of this year to hold the box office number one for two weeks in a row!
Coming in at number two was The Purge: Anarchy, which raked in $28.3 million in its first week at the box office.
Animated film Planes: Fire & Rescue came in third this week, bringing in $18 million in its first week in the theaters
Landing at number four was Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel‘s Sex Tape, which disappointed in its opening weekend with only $15 million. Rounding out the top five was Transformers: Age of Extinction, which earner $10 million.
